Haiti - Politic : Remarks of the President Martelly and Daniel Rouzier at the airport
Before leaving Haiti to Miami for his annual medical check https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-3206-haiti-health-president-martelly-to-miami-for-a-medical-visit.html , the President Martelly, at Toussaint Louverture International Airport, with Prime Minister-designate, Daniel Gérard Rouzier have given a few words to the media about the pending ratification of the Prime Minister; their confidence in parliamentarians, on the future team of the Government and the National Fund for Education (FNE) that accumulates each day $100,000. Here is a summary of the essential of their remarks.

President Michel Martelly :
"...Once again I recommend you the Prime Minister-designate, because I think the country needs it. [...] after this little time, that I am at the head of the country, I see the quantity of problems we have, there are many. We need experts, people who are capable, people who prioritize the country of Haiti and I believe that we have succeeded [...] together with the Prime Minister, to set up a team that is ready to work. Haiti is, as we know, to a difficult crossroads, often, the parliamentarians do not know the Executive and tend to think that the thing will be difficult. What you see is what is, a team of young Haitian who wants to serve our country. We must use every channel we have, parliamentarians, executive and judiciary to achieve to bring what we want to the Haitian people. I'll go, but first I'll ask the Prime Minister if he wants to say something. During my absence, I count on you, my dear friends, my dear colleagues the parliamentarians... Let's be serene... we must evaluate the thing at its fair value and we must think to Haiti during the decision-making. Once again I tell you, I am with my Prime Minister-designate, with all my might, also yesterday evening, I have the impression that at 3 am, he slept while I took his defense once again. My dear, I'm leaving today, I'm not saying you good luck, I am calm, in form. I know that parliamentarians understand what weight is on them this morning because everyone is in expectation [of the ratification] and last night again, I have reassured them about who you are, because sometimes they try to talk to me about certain issues ... For example, if you're Haitian or not ? They are those who have talked about your taxes, I told them that I have not seen your tax papers, [...] but I told them that I know who you are, I let you give to the country a few words and then I leave."

Prime Minister-designate, Daniel Gérard Rouzier:
"Good, President, thank you and to the Haitian Nation I say that today is a day crucial, and we are here, the heart calm, our souls are serene, we expect the vote of the Lower House and the President will leave for 24 hours our prayers will accompany him, so that his medical checkup went very well and that we began to work for the country. There are a lot of work to do, we have a highly competent team, a team of servants who are ready to do the work for which the people have voted [...] the time has come for us to begin to work and do three things that are : put children to school, removing people from under the tents and set up the conditions so that investment can come in Haiti, so that everyone finds work. That said, I am calm and confident, we handed all the documents that the Parliament asked us, to take an informed, intelligent decision and that meets all the prescribed constitutional. It is on this note, that I wish to the President a excellent trip, you can go the heart in Peace, our prayers are with you and tomorrow morning we are waiting for you to continue the work."

President Michel Martelly :
"Thank you, thank you Daniel, before leaving, I'll simply add that we also published a list of 13 deputies and two senators for a total of 15 parliamentarians from the last elections that were made and who had had problems. So the list came out yesterday, I wanted to tell you. We let our team motivated to work, ready to work. Currently, each day, about 100,000 dollars enters in the FNE. This will become a tax, a surcharge ? Will be discussed later, this is something we will do with our friends the parliamentarians. The essential thing is that with the movement that we have created every day, 100,000 dollars are dedicated to education and collected through the 5 cents [on phone calls + $ 1.50 on each transfer of funds], and again, I said that this money is not in a private account, this is not us, who manage it... [...] I congratulate the whole team, everyone who helped us to set up this program. We also wish to remind to everyone, we have asked the police and justice an investigation on the death of Mr. Toussaint Guiteau, a very important person who lost his life in an assassination regrettable, stupid... We ask the police to continue its investigation, to the justice to do its job, we want results... Tomorrow I return, I welcome everyone, I wish tou a good day and good work..."
