Carrefour : Launch of the «Social security net...» project

A kick-off meeting for the "Temporary social safety net and youth skills" project took place in the commune of Carrefour on Friday. It is a project of the Haitian State through the Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES), financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and of which the Pan American Development Foundation (PADF) is the operator.

On Saturday, the Prime Minister, Joseph Jouthe, met the officials and students of the Henry Christophe de Limonade campus of the State University of Haiti (UEH), to learn about the urgent needs related to budgetary constraints, to the infrastructure, teachers' accommodation, dormitory, transport and conflict within the institution.

Plaine-du-Nord : Mobile training

Launch in Robillard (Plaine-du-Nord) of a mobile training in commercial cooking and pastry making for a period of one month. The region will also benefit from two other mobile training courses : one in cosmetology and another in renewable energy. These training courses are financed by Belgian development cooperation via a partnership through the Ministry of National Education, the National Institute for Vocational Training (INFP) and the Association for the promotion of education abroad (APEFE) Wallonia-Brussels international.

Friday, October 30 at the National Palace took place the investiture ceremony of the members of the Independent Advisory Committee for the development of the draft of the new Constitution.

Distribution of onion seeds

Patrix Sévère, the Ministry of Agriculture, at the head of a delegation went this week in the commune of Marchand Dessalines, (Artibonite) to distribute 1,500 pounds (+680 kg) of onion seeds to farmers.
