Following the unfavorable vote of the Chamber of Deputies, which rejected the candidacy of Prime Minister-designate, Daniel Gérard Rouzier [19 votes in favor, 42 against and 3 abstentions], Mr. Rouzier, declared :

"...I do not know if I'm disappointed... [...] it is a pathway... If you say that I learn, then I learn [...] I do not believe that the vote was technical, because I believe we have clearly demonstrated, that I was responding to all the requests of the Constitution, but it is possible, that I do not meet the profile of the person that some would like to see at the head of the country with the President [...]

I do not know if there have been negotiations, a team was formed, a general policy statement was written, that's what I can tell you. Personally, I was not in negotiations. [...] in good conscience, I do whatever the law asked me to do, and I was a citizen ready to serve.

They [the deputies] have not felt that I should to be there, it is the right of those who are legitimate, the people voted for them..."
