Father Ronald Sylvain released against ransom

The Reverend Missionary Father Ronald Sylvain kidnapped by armed individuals in Delmas on November 10, was released on Friday November 13 on the Champ de Mars around 10:00 p.m. against the payment of a ransom of 1 million gourdes.

PNH : Robbery foiled, 3 injured, 2 arrests

On Friday, a police patrol foiled an attempted robbery in Gonaïves, precisely on Avenue des Dattes. During this intervention, a police officer and two of the suspects were shot and wounded. After a long pursuit, the two alleged robbers were apprehended in Pont-Gaudin.

UDMOs release 51 passengers from hostage bus

Saturday, November 14 around 6:00 am agents of the Departmental Unit for the maintenance of order (UDMO), proceeded to the release of the 51 passengers of a bus which ensured the connection Port-de-Paix / Port-au-Prince, taken under hostage by armed individuals in the afternoon of Friday, November 13 in the locality of Jolivert (between Bassin Bleu and Gros Morne).

Launch of the anti-corruption awareness campaign

Friday, November 13 at the Canado Haitian College, Mr. Hans Ludwig Joseph, Director General of the Unit for the Fight Against Corruption (ULCC), launched in public and private schools the awareness campaign against corruption, in the presence notably the Secretary of State for Youth, Jacquelin Charlot Jr., the Representative of the Minister of National Education, committed artists such as BIC, Kako, Tamara Suffren and Nadia Faubert. The goal of this campaign is to put young people at the heart of this scourge and raise their awareness for a transformation of society.

Former PM Michèle Pierre-Louis named female political leader 2020:

This week during the Global Forum of Women Leaders 2020, which took place in Reykjavik (Iceland from November 9 to 11, 2020) the President of the Knowledge and Freedom Foundation (FOKAL) and former Prime Minister Michèle Pierre-Louis (2008-2009 ), was named "Women Political Leaders Trailblazer Award Winner 2020", for her exceptional career as a woman political leader alongside 5 other female political figures. Recall that the "WPL Trailblazer Awards" are awarded to current and former presidents and prime ministers, for reaching the pinnacle of political leadership, and whose leadership represents and inspires change.
