Convened several times, by the prosecutor of Port-au-Prince and the Senate Committee of Inquiry on the corruption and electoral fraud, Gaillot Dorsinvil, the President of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP), whose disappearance had given way to many rumors and speculation, is back to his office...!

"The President of the Provisional electoral counsel did not flee and will not flee" has declared Dorsinvil which explained that he was resting on the recommendations of his doctor. Supposedly wanted by the police, Mr Dorsinvil, has denied that any arrest warrant was issued against him, adding to be a "victim of political persecution."

"Mr. Dorsinvil had justified his absence by health problems, if it can appear at his office, it can also respond to the invitation of the prosecution" has advised the Government Commissioner, Me Auguste Harrycidas, which intends to send this Friday, a convocation to the President of CEP.

However, it is unlikely that the President of the CEP respond to this new convocation. According to Me Reynold Georges, one of the lawyers of Mr. Dorsinvil, the prosecutor has no jurisdiction to convene his client "Mr. Gaillot Dorsinvil is not justiciable in front the prosecution, which has no authority to convene an electoral adviser." adding that the President of the CEP, nor any other election adviser, are accountable to the Chief Prosecutor.
