Haiti - Economy : Jovenel Moïse would have canceled the customs inspections fees on Dominican trucks
Wednesday, November 25 in Santo Domingo, within the framework of the first 100 days of his mandate, the Dominican President Luis Abinader in an interview for the Corripio Media Group explained why the Chancellor Roberto Alvarez and Luis Soto, Director of the "Departamento Nacional de Investigaciones" (DNI) had made an unofficial trip to Haiti in early November.

"A delegation was sent to Haiti to deal with several issues, including a US $800 fee imposed for each truck Dominican export to Haiti https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-32161-haiti-dr-a-complaint-against-haiti-could-be-lodged-with-the-wto.html "stressing that the application of such a measure "would make Dominican products more expensive in Haiti."

"We spoke with President Jovenel Moise in this regard, and he canceled the application of this fee, making it clear that it was not a tax but the cost for inspecting trucks."

Luis Abinader assured that during the visit of Dominican officials to Haiti, bilateral relations had also been discussed. Claiming that the details of what has been agreed will be revealed "in the next few weeks or months".
