Haiti - Security : The PNH mobilizes and deploys its special units against gangs and bandits

The National Police of Haiti (PNH) informs the population that police operations are being carried out in order to pacify the so-called "lawless" neighborhoods with a view to restoring peace and ensuring order, in particular in sensitive areas of the metropolitan region.

In this context, the police, on the instruction of Commander-in-Chief Léon Charles, recently invested the village village of Dieu and its neighboring areas https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-32453-haiti-flash-the-pnh-regains-control-of-village-de-dieu.html in order to track down and dislodge the bandits who occupy these areas and neighborhoods constituting the southern entrance or exit of Port-au-Prince .

Commander Charles is determined to fulfill his mission and will implement all regular police strategies to free the population from these assailants.

Several structures including the Directorate of General Intelligence (DRG), the Central Directorate of Administrative Police (DCPA), the Central Directorate of Judicial Police (DCPJ) and specialized units such as the Intervention and Maintenance Corps (CIMO), the Departmental Law Enforcement Units (UDMO), the Departmental Operation and Intervention Brigade (BOID), the Coast Guard, the General Security Unit of the National Palace (USGPN), the The National Police Intervention Group (SWAT), the Departmental Judicial Police Service (SDPJ - West) and the Intervention and Research Brigade (BRI) are mobilized for this purpose.

The PNH stresses that operations are continuing and will only end when the population can quietly go about their business without worrying about their safety.
