Haiti - USA : Members of Congress seek Biden's support for a transition in Haiti
Three members of the US Congress : Gregory Meeks, the new Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs, Albio Sires, Chairman of the Western Hemisphere Sub-Committee and Andy Levin, member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives say they are in favor of a political transition in Haiti.

In a statement, they said that after analyzing the situation in Haiti, they want to work with the new President-elect Joe Biden (who will take the helm of the United States on January 20, 2021), on the possibility of establishing a political transition to replace Jovenel Moïse, whom they accuse of taking an increasingly authoritarian path...

"[...] When the 117th Congress meets, support for democratic actors in Haiti will be a major concern of this Commission. We will urgently work with the new Biden Government to develop a US policy that prioritizes the rights and aspirations of the Haitian people and supports a credible Haitian-led transition to a return to democratic order," explain the signatories of the press release.

Obviously, Trump or Biden, the interference in Haiti's internal affairs doesn't seem ready to stop...
