Haiti - Politic : Senator Lambert launches «The great national dialogue»

After two weeks of preparatory meetings with the various vital sectors of national life and certain international partners, the President of the Upper House, Senator Joseph Lambert launches "The great national dialogue".

Under the auspices of the Senate, two days of discussion will be held in Taras La Sapinière (February 3 and 4, 2021), between the protagonists of the current political crisis.

After the observations of civil society, the authorities and the opposition will express in turn their position on the state of the Constitution, the need for a return to constitutional order through elections and the mechanisms to be implemented for a better governance in a peaceful political climate.

At the end of the discussions, a global agreement will be signed in an attempt to "curb the impending chaos and stabilize the country" specifies a note from the Senate Office.

Senator Lambert "Convinced of the ability of actors in national life to find an agreement on their disagreements for the good of present and future generations, invites all Haitians to go beyond themselves to save Haiti, the only common good that our ancestors have bequeathed us."
