In order to avoid a misunderstanding, Laurent Lamothe's Secretariat believes it appropriate to recall the following facts :

The Haitian State, via the Superior Council of the National Police (CSPN) at the time and in accordance with its prerogatives and in compliance with the procedures required in this matter, had carried out an order in 2012 for equipment to strengthen the capacities of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) to properly fulfill its mission of maintaining order and public security in Haiti. On this occasion, anti-riot trucks, armored personnel carriers, fifteen thousand (15,000) pistols, five thousand (5,000) 12 caliber rifles and one thousand (1000) Galil for specialized units (SWAT, BRI, CIMO, UDMO, BLTS, USGPN) were purchased and handed over to the PNH. At that time, the PNH was completely deprived because the last order of safety equipment dated back more than fifteen years.

2. The results that resulted from this acquisition were more than eloquent. The multiple cases of kidnapping which previously sowed mourning and desolation in families have been reduced to almost zero and crime reduced to its simplest form. This is indisputable, the facts and statistics are there !"
