Following the assassination of President Jovenel Moise. On July 7, the President of the Dominican Republic Luis Abinader called on the international community to take responsibility for the crisis situation Haiti is currently going through.

Abinader demanded greater participation from foreign countries to seek a final solution "for the good of Haiti".

"[...] We were not asked to collaborate, but we believe that the international community should have a much more active attitude than it currently has."

He said that although the consequences are greater for the Dominican Republic, it is also consequences for the whole of the international community and [...] we think that the countries should have a much more active attitude than at present."
