Saturday August 14, after an earthquake of 8 hours 29 minutes and 8 seconds (08:29:08) in the morning, with a magnitude 7.2 on the Richter scale which occurred in the department of Nippes 12 km to the North East of Saint-Louis du Sud (South Dept.) The United States Geological Survey (USGS) has issued a red alert regarding the death toll, which means the institute expects a high death toll, which may require international assistance.

Hospital situation :
