Haiti - Earthquake : The private sector is mobilizing to come to the aid of the victims
Following the destructive and deadly earthquake of magnitude 7.2 on the Richter scale which struck the southern region of Haiti on August 14th https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-34479-haiti-flash-magnitude-72-earthquake-in-the-nippes.html whose last official partial toll shows 2,189 dead, 332 missing, 12,268 injured, 52,953 houses destroyed and 77,006 houses damaged. https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-34525-haiti-flash-the-toll-is-growing-nearly-15-000-victims-partial-assessment.html all stakeholders are mobilizing to help to families affected by this disaster.

The Alliance for Risk Management and Business Continuity (AGERCA) being the representative of the private sector and civil society in the National Disaster Risk Management System (SNGRD), is mobilized to collect donations private sector and civil society organizations as well as individuals at several collection points.

    Monday to Friday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Canne-à-Sucre Historical Park (Tabarre)
    Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Internegoce on the road to the Airport (Rue Jean Gilles # 17)
    Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Radio TV Guinen (Delmas 31)
    Every day 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.)
  • Franco-Haitian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CFHCI) (Pétion-Ville, rue Goulard # 5
    Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Compass (Pétion-Ville, rue Metellus # 35)
    Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Partial list of donors and products received :
Culligan: 2,500 gallons of water;
"Alternative Insurance Company" (AIC): 800 Bottles of water of 591 ml;
BRANA: 2 million gourdes;
National Paintings Manufacture (MATPAR): 500,000 gourdes;
Company "Comme il faut" purchasing of products equivalent to US $100,000;
DIGICEL: Nearly 1,500 gallons of fuel and call credits;
Valerio Canez: in-kind donations, including solar panels and rechargeable lamps.

AGERCA continues to collect donations through collection points and an overall assessment of the products received will be presented at the end of the process.

In order to support the national economy, AGERCA encourages all donors, especially humanitarian institutions, to procure local products made by Haitian companies to give aid to affected families.
