Haiti - Earthquake : Mexico, Chile, Taiwan, Japan, Venezuela, International aid is coming
Following the deadly earthquake that hit southern Haiti on August 14, 12 km north east of Saint-Louis du Sud https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-34479-haiti-flash-magnitude-72-earthquake-in-the-nippes.html, international aid is arriving in Haiti.

Chile :
Chilean President Sebastián Piñera expressed his solidarity with the Haitian people and declared "The earthquake in Haiti means a huge humanitarian tragedy, lives lost and infrastructure destroyed. Today, Chile is sending humanitarian aid, medicines, sanitary items, food, among other things that the Haitian people need [...] Chileans know what a devastating earthquake means and what it means. means in terms of suffering and pain for people who have to live these ordeals, and that is why we have every reason in the world today to accompany, support and help Haitians in these moments of pain and anguish," confirming "the dispatch on Monday evening of a Boeing KC-135 with more than 16 tons of humanitarian aid : medicines, sanitary items, food, water and other facts and things necessary in Haiti."

In detail, the aid includes 11,000 liters of purified water, feeding kits and food rations with non-perishable foods (flour, sugar, noodles, rice, tea, potted tuna, beans, chickpeas, milk powder, soybeans, horse mackerel, biscuits, salt, mashed potatoes, coffee, sweeteners and jam, among other products), as well as personal hygiene kits for men and women and medicines.

In addition, Sebastián Piñera revealed that he had met with the presidents of Panama and Costa Rica "in order to coordinate the humanitarian aid that they will also send to Haiti and for which Chile will provide air transport."

Mexico :
The Mexican Air Force (FAM) sent two heavy and medium transport planes to Haiti, with humanitarian aid to support its population following the earthquake.

FAM Commander General Gerardo Vega Rivera ordered the departure of two planes:

A C-295W CASA, with a capacity of 8 tons, took around 60 members of the Mexican army specializing in medical and rescue care and their equipment, to support Haitians affected by the earthquake

A Hercules L-100-30 which carries a cargo of nearly 20 tons of humanitarian aid consisting of medicine, clinical supplies, food and rescue equipment, in addition to transporting support equipment.

Japan :
On Monday August 16, in response to the request of the Government of Haiti, the Government of Japan decided to provide emergency aid (sheets, floor matekas, woolen blankets, plastic sheeting, jerry cans etc...) to Haiti by through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to support the victims of the August 14 earthquake.

Taiwan :
The Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES), with the support of Taiwan (Republic of China) stands in solidarity with the inhabitants of the departments of the South, Grand-Anse and Nippes hard hit by the earthquake of August 14, 2021 via the Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES).

To this end, in the aftermath of the earthquake, the FAES dispatched several convoys containing thousands of food kits for distribution to victims of the Great South. Operations began the same day in various places, in a spirit of solidarity and sharing.

FAES thanked Taiwan which has never spared its efforts to help the Haitian Government and people in such circumstances.

Venezuela :
On Monday, Venezuelan Ambassador to Haiti Pedro Antonio Canino Gonzalez extended to the Haitian people the sympathies of his government and the people of Venezuela. According to the diplomat, all measures have already been taken by Venezuela to bring solidarity to the victims.
Boats with all the technical structures should arrive in the country in the coming days, stressing that the day after the disaster, a first boat carrying aid had already arrived in Haiti.
