Haiti - FLASH : Haitians attack American pilots and injure three ICE agents
Tuesday, September 21, 2021, on the tarmac of Toussaint Louverture International Airport, Haitians expelled from the United States assaulted the pilots of one of the repatriation flights that arrived in Port-au-Prince and injured three officers of the Service de Immigration and Customs (ICE)

These troubles erupted shortly after the arrival of a flight carrying adult Haitians, when it was handed over to the Haitian authorities on the tarmac, while several improvised a protest movement against the deportation conditions, other Haitians rushed to another recently arrived flight and boarded the plane as Haitian families deported had yet to disembark. They assaulted the pilots and three ICE officers were also slightly injured.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) DHS said : "On Tuesday, Sept. 21, some adult migrants caused two separate disruptions on the tarmac after deplaning in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Haitian crowd control officers responded to both incidents and resolved the situations [...] "

Alejandro Mayorkas, Secretary of Homeland Security, said that same day during a hearing in the United States Senate that the migrant crowd in Del Rio https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-34786-haiti-flash-joe-biden-orders-the-deportation-of-thousands-of-illegal-haitian-migrants.html would be dispelled in the next few days saying "Expect to see dramatic results within the next 48 to 96 hours."

However, after Tuesday's assaults, some officials within DHS fear they will not have enough security at airports to safely land deportation flights.
