Haiti - FLASH : Donation of 165,000 doses of Johnson & Johnson vaccines but... 20/12/2021 08:36:12
"We are pleased to announce that Haiti's Ministry of Public Health and Population has received a donation of 108,000 Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines from the United States through the COVAX program. Sara Oliver, responsible for presenting the data for the CDC explained that independent US experts were unwilling to advise against the use of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine because of the possible impact that such a decision could have outside the United States. These experts say Johnson & Johnson's vaccine lowers the risk of hospitalization, but poses higher health risks. Adding that the "J&J" vaccine will remain available in the United States, in particular for people for whom messenger RNA vaccines (Pfizer and Moderna) are contraindicated or if the latter are not available.
