Nesmy Manigat Minister of National Education :
"On the occasion of the 12th anniversary of the earthquake of January 12, 2010, the Minister of National Education addresses his sympathies to all the parents, relatives and friends of those who disappeared from this terrible disaster, in particular those of the educational community. Minister Manigat has a special thought for all the students, parents, teachers and school principals who died on the deadliest day in national history."

Judith Nazareth Auguste, Minister of the Diaspora (MHAVE) :
"May their deaths help us become aware and change our behavior in order to reduce the consequences of natural disasters."
