According to the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the Biden administration has expelled until January 31, 2022, 19,189 Haitians via almost daily flights to Port-au-Prince and Cap-Haitien. The 10 additional flights, from February 1st to February 18, brought the total number of deportees to 20,200, a number that continues to rise.

Quixote Center, an American social justice organization, calculates that the Biden administration expelled in its first year in office almost as many as every other president in the past 20 years.

Recall that during his term, the Trump administration expelled 6,150 Haitians and President Obama expelled a total of 6,670 during these 2 terms (8 years)

Despite the interventions of elected officials from the US House of Representatives and Senate, UN organizations and human rights defenders calling on the Biden administration to suspend deportations to Haiti, the repatriation of Haitians continues even if it is at a slower pace.
