Haiti - Hinche D-1 : A major Carnival

The city of Hinche (Centre Dept.) for its 3rd Edition of the carnival, is preparing to organize for the first time a large-scale carnival including floats and musical groups for the three fat days from February 27 to March 1st 2022 around the theme "Hinche, city dreams: An n mete tèt ansanm" and is preparing to welcome thousands of festival-goers.

On the program, 5 muical floats, 8 musical groups, a dozen bands on foot and tenors of music including "Kreyòl La", Roody Roodboy, RAM and "Mass Konpa".

The Town Hall, the Center Delegation, through the office of Senator Rony Célestin (PHTK, Center), are mobilizing its resources to carry out the festivities.

The Red Cross, the Ministry of Public Health, the Directorate of Civil Protection (DPC), the General Directorate of Civil Protection (DGPC) are there to intervene if necessary throughout the course during the three fat days, said Budry. These instructions can prevent you from being a victim, save your life and that of your loved ones if you respect them correctly.

Instructions :

  • Going out in groups;

  • Follow the instructions given by the organizers of the event and the police;

  • Avoid carrying sharp objects so as not to injure others;

  • Leave the red axes free (allowing the circulation of emergency vehicles);

  • Respect the designated parking areas;

  • Avoid leaving items in cars that could attract thieves;

  • Avoid using glass bottles;

  • Avoid drinking too much alcohol and do not drink it if you are going to drive;

  • Respect the speed limits on the road;

  • Wear bright clothes to be seen at night or at best a reflective vest and a flashlight;

  • Avoid standing in crowds if you have asthma;

  • Fasten the seat belt in the front as well as in the back when you are in the car;

  • Put on and fasten the helmet for motorized two or three wheelers, including passengers;

  • Respect the safety distances between vehicles and adapt them to traffic and weather conditions;

  • Report to the police any cases of violent action observed;

  • Avoid jostling in the crowd;

  • Have a first aid kit in your car;

  • Avoid standing near musical floats.
