Haiti - Economy : Annual inflation 24.7% 28/02/2022 08:32:12 The monthly increase observed in December 2021 is mainly the result of the behavior of the following consumption indices : "Food products and non-alcoholic beverages”: +1.2% over one month and 26.3% over one year; "Clothing and footwear": +1.4% over one month and 25.8% over one year; "Housing, water, gas, electricity and other fuels": +5.1% over one month and 21.2% over one year "Health": +0.6% over one month and 26.7% over one year. "Transport": +16.1% over 1 month and 22.9% over one year Products with more pronounced annual inflation: Power: Rice (on average 39.8%), meat (26.5%), milk powder (33.1%), edible oil (57.7%), lemon (36.8%), banana (32.5%), peas (23.2%) and sugar (26.7%). Clothing and footwear: Dress (on average 32.9%), shirt (25.9%), pants for men (29.2%). "Housing, water, gas, electricity and other fuels"o: Housing rent (average 19.3%), water (30.4%), charcoal (31.3%), propane gas (50.4%), kerosene (116%) Health: Medicines (on average 30.9%) and glasses with corrective lenses (21.9%). It should be noted that a greater increase in prices was observed at the level of imported products, i.e. 33.7% year-on-year against 19.7% for local products. It should be noted, however, that the most significant regional variations compared to October 2021 are observed for the Rest West 26.1% and the South 26.5%. Metropolitan area: year 23.9% (Port-au-Prince, Delmas, Pétion-ville, Carrefour and Croix des Bouquet); Rest West: year 26.1% (South-East and West Departments without the metropolitan area); North: year +23.6% (North, North East and North West Department); South: year +26.5% (Department of the South, Grande-Anse and Nippes); Transversal: year +24.1% (Department of Center and Artibonite).
