Friday, the President Michel Martelly met [for the first time] the Presidents Rodolphe Joazile (Senate) and Sorel Jacinthe (Chamber of Deputies), as part of the process of designation of a third candidate for the Prime Minister's Office.

The meeting, which lasted several hours, took place in the official residence of Jean-Max Bellerive, the outgoing Prime Minister. The three men discussed among other things, of the "ideal" profile of the next candidate who, according to the President of the Senate, must be "honest, competent, open to dialogue, able to minimize the risk of political polarization and to conduct public policy answering to the needs and aspirations of the people..."

According to the President of the Senate, in addition to the discussions around the profile of the future candidate, the national issues of the day were discussed. He wished to clarify that during this meeting, no name of a potential Prime Minister-designate has been discussed mentioned.

Stating that Parliament wants only one thing "the rapid formation of a new government," he believes that the Head of State might be able to unveil next week, the name of his new candidate, if the search for a political consensus around of its ratification ends...
