Haiti - Economy : Support for business creation, 2nd cohort (list of beneficiaries) 30/03/2022 10:40:59
Led by the AUF, this Program counts on the financial support of the Embassy of Switzerland in Haiti, the Bank of the Republic of Haiti, the Knowledge and Freedom Foundation (FOKAL) and the SOGEBANK Foundation and aims to incubate more than 300 projects, as well as the financing of more than 60 companies. Out of approximately 600 files received, 150 projects were selected in particular for the socio-environmental relevance of the proposed business idea. Young entrepreneurs will develop their business plans through a 180-hour incubation workshop, in a hybrid format (face-to-face and remote). At the end of this workshop, 30 projects will benefit from funding of 10,000 US dollars and individualized technical support for 6 months, in order to launch their operations. The winners of the program will undertake to invest at least two years in the development of their business and to contribute to working in a spirit of mutual collaboration. It should be noted that 52% of the projects selected are carried out by women and that in the long term, 65% of the companies will be established in the Great South. This program contributes to the emergence of businesses led by Haitian students at an advanced level (last year of a bachelor's degree, master's or doctorate) with particular attention to projects linked to regions far from the capital. The RéSACE comprises four devices : - An incubation workshop lasting 180 hours, led by professionals and academics; - Seed funding of USD 10,000 for the most mature and relevant projects; - Individualized technical support for the creation of businesses, by a network of professionals experienced in monitoring SMEs; - The creation of the status of student-entrepreneur, in dialogue with the Ministry of National Education.
