Haiti - Tourism : Important academic exchange with the Dominican Republic

Following the academic cooperation agreement signed between the "Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra" (PUCMM) of the Dominican Republic and the María Auxiliadora Hotel Management School of Port-au-Prince (EHMA), Monique Bellegarde, Director of the EHMA awarded a Plaque of Merit to the Dominican Ambassador to Haiti, Faruk Miguel Castillo in the presence of Gregorio Coca General Manager of the Hotel El Rancho, the sisters of EHMA, special guests and the media.

"It is a privilege to grant this recognition to a Dominican Ambassador, who took the initiative to offer us the most important academic exchange we have received in the field of hospitality and tourism. This will be of great help in the short and long term for our students who come from very modest families in Port-au-Prince," said Ms. Bellegarde.

The courses offered in Haiti by the PUCMM will be sanctioned by certificates from the Dominican University. The study plan also includes face-to-face internships for students at the NH El Rancho hotel in Pétion-Ville.

Let's remember that the EHMA was founded by Salesian nuns in La Saline in one of the most populated and needy areas of the capital.
