Haiti - Education : Introduction of the single book at the next school year
As part of the ongoing reform of the education sector, the Ministry of National Education has decided to introduce, as of the 2022-2023 academic year, a single school book for the first two years of the 1st cycle of the fundamental school.

This book will bring together the key subjects, namely : Creole, French, Mathematics, Social Sciences and Experimental Sciences and will allow the student to build his learning from a common base of skills, knowledge and culture, while considerably reducing all the expenses incurred by parents by providing students with a single educational document.

For the Minister of National Education, Nesmy Manigat who has not ceased to denounce the waste of money and resources especially when a child in 1st A.F. has 17 books or more according to certain establishments this initiative will allow more social justice and equity in access to education

This unique book will respond to the principles of interdisciplinarity and transferability making it possible to exploit various disciplinary fields to study a teaching-learning object. It will establish an interaction with other subjects or disciplines through concepts, approaches and content. Finally, it will mobilize a transversal pedagogy which will materialize in learning activities or projects while using the principle of contextualization by taking into account realities close to the experience of learners.

Specifications for this unique book, defining the terms and conditions of development, printing and approval have been drafted by the Ministry and a national call for tenders has already been launched on June 30, 2022 (# 41556) .
