Haiti - Martissant : A bus riddled with bullets between 6 and 12 injured passengers
Monday, July 4th at the southern entrance to the capital, a bus traveling from Port-au-Prince to Carrefour found itself at the wrong time and in the wrong place, caught in the crossfire of an armed clash involving members of the "5 seconds" gang from Village-de-Dieu to Martissant 4 at the intersection of boulevard Jean Jacques Dessalines.

According to diverging testimonies, this shooting involved men from Ti Bois who were trying to recover the body of one of their own, for others, it was more of an exchange of fire between the men of the "5 seconds" gang and the security agents of Parliament. Information impossible to verify from a reliable and independent source and without any report from the authorities.

Whatever the parties involved in this shooting, the bus, collateral victim of this conflict, received numerous bullets and the testimonies report between 6 and 12 passengers injured and taken to the emergency room of the Carrefour hospital.

The incident was recorded at the Carrefour police station by the bus driver who managed to escape safe and sound from the combat zone.
