Haiti - Economy : Training of 20 young Haitian professionals in the textile industry

Twenty young Haitians, selected from nearly 200 candidates, will soon begin a executive training in the textile industry, in Nicaragua.

According to Jocelyne Colimond Féthière, the Minister of Commerce, the training, lasting six months, is funded by and for the world's leading Korean textile SAE-A Trading Co. as part of the construction of industrial park of North.

Once their training is completed, these 20 young professionals, will occupy management positions in the Korean company and will also train future workers of the company "This project brings hope. Haitians must rejoice, it is the job creation that will change the image of Haiti. Thus, the population will be able to take care of its own, to build their own home, invest in other sectors. In short, it will be able to ensure its future" added the Minister of Commerce.

SAE-A Trading Co., will invest 78 million U.S. dollars in acquisition costs and installation of equipment for this project, hich should create 20,000 permanent jobs over seven years.

Mr. Jean Kesner Delmas, Managing Director of the National Society of Industrial Parks (SONAPI) argues that the implementation work of of the new Industrial Park of North, advancing rapidly. Following the schedule, the company SAE-A Trading Co. should be able to begin its operations in first half of 2012.
