Most service stations were closed and operations paralyzed at the Varreux oil terminal, At least 2 people were reportedly killed in Delmas 38 and several others injured when several unidentified individuals opened fire on the demonstrators before fleeing by car. Demonstrators set fire to a house which was storing fuel clandestinely. In Les Cayes, a 16-year-old boy was shot in the leg... Clashes were reported between demonstrators and those close to power in Delmas and in the provinces. During this day at least three motorcycles and 4 vehicles were burned and many private cars vandalized. In Cap-Haitien, thousands of protesters took to the streets under strong police supervision. Former senator Jean-Charles Moïse leader of the radical opposition party "Pitit Desalin" was particularly upset against the banks he accuses of being responsible for the vertiginous rise in the exchange rate declaring "We will burn them all if the exchange rate is not fixed at less than 100 gourdes" also threatening to burn the houses of transfer, rice importers and owners of gas stations and to close the country if necessary.
