Haiti - Demonstrations : Protection of banks and blocking of roads, the PNH deploys

A note published Tuesday, September 6, bearing the signature of the Divisional Commissioner, Allande Serge Jolicoeur, Departmental Director of West-1 of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), addressed to the heads of the jurisdictions of Port-au-Prince, Delmas and Pétion-ville, announces several measures in anticipation of the threats and slippages that may occur during the demonstrations planned for this Wednesday, September 7, 2022 against insecurity, the high cost of living, the scarcity of fuel, the devaluation of the Gourdes, the exchange rate and the departure of Prime Minister ai.i Ariel Henry.

The PNH intends to protect the branches of banks located in the strategic areas of Port-au-Prince, Delmas and Pétion-ville. To do this, all the access roads where these banks are located will be cordoned off by PNH units.

Banks and branches concerned :

Sogebank (Lalue, Delmas 30 and Delmas 48)

BNC (Bern, Lalue, Delmas 32, Delmas 52 and Panamerican Petionville)

Unibank (Nazon, Alix Roi and Delmas 32)

BPH (Delmas 87)

In addition, it is also planned, the total blocking of the access roads which lead to the Official Residence of the Prime Minister as well as the prohibition for the demonstrators to enter the Center of Pétion-Ville
