Probable case: Any suspected case with a positive rapid diagnostic test (validated by the LNSP) Confirmed Case: Any suspect or probable case with a positive culture for “Viri cocholerae” Hospitalized case: Any suspected, probable or confirmed case that spends at least 24 hours in a care institution Institutional Death: Any suspected, probable or confirmed case who dies in a care institution Community Death: Any suspected case that dies outside a care institution MSF News : In the capital Port-au-Prince and its surroundings, Médecin Sans Frontière (MSF) has opened three treatment centres: a 10-bed center in the Brooklyn neighborhood, a 20-bed center in the Turgeau neighborhood and a 50 beds in the MSF hospital in Cité Soleil. MSF has also opened several rehydration points. Currently, the Cité Soleil center can still receive new patients with cholera; but the other two centers have reached their maximum capacity.
