The Dominican Republic through its Ministry of Industry and Commerce, has authorized the export of 25,000 gallons of diesel to Haiti by land, by the French multinational AFA Trading, to supply 3 hospitals and an industrial park.

This request approved by the Dominican Ministry of Industry and Commerce was formulated by the company AFA Trading in a letter addressed to the Dominican authorities on October 17th.

The information was published Thursday, October 20 by the Reuters agency, which claims to have had access to the letter of request from the company AFA Trading in which the Ministry of Industry and Commerce gave the green light to the request.

Let's recall that Haiti is suffering from a fuel shortage due to the blockade of the Varreux oil terminal located in the seaport where 70% of the country's fuel is stored, by the men of Jimmy Cherisier, alias "Barbecue", the Chief of the coalition of "G9" gangs. A blockade that has lasted for more than a month now affects the operation of health centers, factories, public transport, affects businesses and prevents the distribution of drinking water, at a time when Haiti is facing an epidemic of cholera.
