Haiti - News : Zapping... 21/11/2022 10:25:52 The Ministry of the Environment of Haiti welcomes the COP27 which reached an (minimal) agreement on the establishment of a financing mechanism to compensate the most vulnerable countries for the "losses and damages" caused by the effects of climate change... This agreement provides for the creation of an aid fund for the countries most affected by the impacts of climate change. A transition committee is responsible for making recommendations on how to operationalize this fund, which will be presented at COP28 next year. However, this COP27 is disappointing because it does not strengthen efforts to combat greenhouse gas emissions responsible for the negative effects of climate change. Haitian politicians unwelcome in France Certain Haitian political personalities are not welcome in France, declared on local TV the accredited French ambassador to Haiti Fabrice Mauriès who, however, refused to give names, explaining that it was a matter between the France and the persons concerned...
