Haiti - Vietnam : Towards a strengthening of cooperation
On November 23, 2022 in Hanoi (Vietnam), as part of a working visit (November 22 to 29), Azad Pierre Nasser Belfort, Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Haiti during a meeting with the Deputy Minister Vietnamese Foreign Minister Ha Kim Ngoc said that the Haitian government wanted to strengthen its relations with Vietnam.

Ha Kim Ngoc pointed out that a number of areas such as investments, technical cooperation and the formation of joint ventures in agriculture, fisheries and livestock were discussed during this meeting.

Ngoc added that the visit of the senior Haitian official, the first to Vietnam after the Covid-19 pandemic, is an important opportunity to review and accelerate the dynamics of cooperation between the two Nations.

He suggested to Azad Pierre Nasser Belfort, to coordinate to promote exchanges and bilateral contacts and to effectively play the mechanism of the Vietnam-Haiti Joint Commission on economic cooperation, trade and investment.

The two men agreed on various measures to promote bilateral relations, as well as coordination and mutual support within international organizations and multilateral forums.

They also agreed to pay more attention, support and create favorable conditions for the safe and efficient operation of NATCOM S.A, a telecommunications joint venture between the multinational "Viettel Group" a subsidiary of the Vietnamese army which owns of 60% and the Haitian State (40%) via Telecommunications of Haiti S.A.M of Haiti
