Death of Benedict XVI : Messages of sympathy
Acting Prime Minister Ariel Henry :
"The sad news of the death of His Holiness Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI has deeply moved me. He was a charismatic personality, an eminent theologian and a great defender of the Church and of peace in the world. I sympathize with the pain of the millions of faithful Catholic Christians afflicted by this enormous loss. I thus add my voice to that of the Haitian people to present my sympathy to Pope Francis, to the College of Cardinals, to the Bishops of Rome and to the entire Catholic religious community here and elsewhere."

Ex Provisional President of Haiti Jocelerme Privert :
"I sympathize with the pain of all dignitaries and faithful Catholics around the world following the death, this Saturday, of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI. Resigned from the functions of sovereign pontiff in 2013 after 8 years in the monastery, he left us at age of 95. May his soul rest in peace !"

Former -MP Garry Bodeau :
"My Respects to the Christian Community in general and to that of Haiti in particular. An emblematic figure of the profession of faith has made the great eternal journey. Peace to his soul! Light! Light for Benedict XVI."

Me André Michel :
"Catholic, I learned with sadness of the death of His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI, a defender of the Church and of Peace. Quite naturally, I share the pain of the Haitian Catholic faithful and of the entire world. Certainly, Pope Benedict XVI will be received in the house of the Father."
