Haiti - 2010 earthquake : Rain of messages
This January 12, 2023, commemorated the 13th anniversary of the earthquake of January 12, 2010, with a magnitude of 7.3 on the Richter scale, which occurred at 4:53 p.m. and 10 seconds local time. An earthquake which in a few seconds killed nearly 300,000 people, injured hundreds of thousands and left more than one and a half million Haitians homeless, causing material damage to buildings and infrastructure for several billion dollars, leaving ruins the capital Port-au-Prince...

Acting Prime Minister Ariel Henry:
"13 years after the disaster of January 12, 2010, the Haitian people still remember their thousands of dead and injured, as well as countless material damages. Unity, reconciliation, reconstruction and socio-economic recovery of the nation constitute the finest and most vibrant tribute that we can pay to our victims. May this devastating earthquake of January 12 inspire us and show us once again the path of solidarity, fraternity and real change for the benefit of our country."
