Haiti - FLASH : 18 police officers victims of armed gangs in 16 days 27/01/2023 10:01:14
Between January 10 and 26, 2023, 18 police officers were victims of acts that took their lives. The agents of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), seem to constitute a privileged target of the armed bandits. Among them, 14 police officers were killed, 2 others wounded by bullets and 2 others are missing. List of victims : On January 10, 2023, in Carrefour-Feuilles, two (2) police officers were murdered. They are Dempsey DENIS (27th promotion) and Jean Daddy PREVILUS (31st promotion) -including-2-policemen-and-several-wounded.html On January 17, 2023, at the Bicentenaire, a police patrol came under armed attack. The police officer Dudley LAFOND (25th promotion) was assassinated. Another policeman, Jonathan JOLICOEUR (27th promotion), was wounded by bullets during this attack. On January 20, 2023, in Métivier, in the commune of Pétion-ville, five (5) police officers were ambushed. Three (3) of them were murdered. They are Gérald Occinal (30th promotion), Duckens CEJUSTE (24th promotion) and Luc ELIEZER (20th promotion). One (1) other polie ier emerged injured from this attack. This is Pascal GUILLAUME (31st promotion). The circumstances surrounding his assassination are not yet known. Whether they belong to the administrative police or whether they are part of the specialized units of the PNH, whether they are simple agents or senior officials, whether they are based in Port-au-Prince or in any other city of the country : nothing spares the lives of the country's police officers. Those who are based in the various municipalities of the West department are the most exposed.
