Haiti - Cap-Haitien: The Imperial Hotel, soon converted into a hospital center

It is to respond to a lack of medical and health facilities in the Far North that the Notre Dame S.A. Hospital (HNDSA) has chosen to establish a hospital center in Cap-Haitien. HNDSA's experience in providing medical care and services as well as its ability to meet, at least in part, the medical and health needs of the Far North has motivated Notre Dame Hospital to set up in this region of the country.

It is in the Imperial Hotel, located in Vertières and soon to be converted into a hospital centre, that the new Notre Dame du Nord Hospital will take up residence. After Port-au-Prince, Les Cayes and Gonaïves, Vertières Hospital will be the 4th entity of Hôpital Notre Dame S.A .

Founded in 1975 by Alfred Béliard, the Imperial Hotel is well known to Capois. "Social cohesion is essential and we are happy to be part of the ecosystem that will be able to participate in it. The Fatima Group has civic responsibility at the heart of its activities and this association with the hospital seemed natural to us and a perfect illustration of our Corporate DNA," declared Patrick Béliard, President of the Fatima Group.

"No society, no business can survive in autarky; it is in this spirit that we believe that a partnership between HNDSA and the Fatima Group can only be beneficial from all points of view. Initially, this alliance will make it possible to offer quality care to the population of the Far North, by combining the medical expertise of the HNDSA and the investment trajectory of the Fatima Group in the Region," underlined Dr Chilove. Viard, CEO of Notre Dame du Nord Hospital.

The transformation of the Imperial Hotel into a hospital began on April 1st, 2023. The Notre Dame du Nord Hospital will proceed to its inauguration on July 1st, 2023. The establishment will have 11 doctors employed (4 general practitioners, 6 specialists and the medical director ) and about fifteen affiliated providers, more than 25 nurses and a total of more than 50 health workers (including laboratory technicians, radiology technicians, and physiotherapy specialists).
