Total suspected cases: 46,300 cases +56 in 24 hours, the day before +199 in 24 hours
Total confirmed cases: 2,933 cases +14 in 24 hours, previous +84 in 24 hours
Total hospitalized cases (suspected and confirmed): 40,501 cases +56 in 24 hours, the day before +178 in 24 hours
Total deaths: 808 deaths ((478 institutional (+0) and 235 community (+0)) +0, previous +7

Partial assessment of cholera in Haiti according to data from the Department of Epidemiology, Laboratories and Research of the Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP).

Distribution of suspected cases, total since October 3:

Less than 1 year: 1,079 cases (+2)
1-4 years: 9,248 cases (+15)
5-9 years: 6,668 cases (+11)
10-14 years old: 3,322 cases (+3)
15-19 years old: 2,444 cases (+5)
20-29 years old: 5,957 cases (+5)
30-39 years old: 5,076 cases (+4)
40-49 years old: 3,781 cases (+2)
50-59 years old: 2,848 cases (+1)
60-69 years old: 2,012 cases (+4)
70-79 years old: 1,169 cases (+4)
80 years and over: 475 cases (+0)

Men: 54.29% men (=); Women 45.71 (=)

Positivity rate by age segment:



Number of tests carried out: 8,418 +71 in 24 hours, previous +318 in 5 days

Positivity rate: 34.66%, previous 34.97%

It should be noted that the percentage of 34.66% of the rate of positive cases on the tests carried out is much lower than the graph published the same day by the Ministry, which indicates an average positivity rate greater than 70% for the epidemiological week # 21

Definitions:
Suspected cases:
Anyone with acute watery, profuse diarrhea with or without vomiting and dehydration
Confirmed case:
Any suspected case with a positive culture for “Vibrio cholerae” or presenting an epidemiological link with a confirmed case of cholera
Hospitalized case:
Any suspected or confirmed case that spends at least 24 hours in a care centre
Institutional death:
Any suspected or confirmed case who dies in a treatment center.
Community death:
Any suspected case that dies outside of a caring institution.
