Haiti - UN FLASH : The USA is preparing a resolution to authorize an intervention in Haiti led by Kenya

Tuesday, August 1st at a press conference, the United States Ambassador to the United Nations, Linda Thomas-Greenfield declared "[...] we welcome Kenya’s decision to lead the multinational force https://www.haitilibre .com/article-40134-haiti-flash-kenya-agrees-to-deploy-1-000-police-in-haiti.html , we will be working on a resolution [...] that will give the Kenyans what they require to establish their presence in Haiti" without specifying a timeline...

Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield underlined "[...] This is not a traditional peacekeeping force, this is not a traditional security situation. We have gangs that have overtaken the country, ... that are terrorizing civilians every single day."

Adding "[...] It is really a police action to stabilize the country, so that the country can return to the path of democracy, so that they can move forward with a political process, which will lead to a stable Government, which will be in able to deal with future situations."
