Haiti - FLASH : Former President a.i. Boniface Alexandre passed away (messages)
Friday August 4th, 2023, former interim President Boniface Alexandre (87) born July 31, 1936 in Ganthier died in his private residence in Delmas 75, following a long illness.

In the 1990s, Me Boniface Alexandre joined the Court of Cassaton, of which he was appointed President in 2002 by President Jean Bertand Aristide. Despite the strong ties that Boniface Alexandre had with Aristide, he was not a member of the Lavalas Party.

On February 29, 2004, Boniface Alexandre assumed the interim presidency of Haiti a few hours after the resignation and deportation of President Aristide.
