Canal Crisis : remarks by the Dominican Ambassador
Following his summons to the Haitian Chancellery https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-40512-haiti-flashthe-dominican-ambassador-to-haiti-summoned-to-the-haitian-chancellery.html the Ambassador Farouk Miguel Castillo, reported that the Haitian authorities consider the decision to close the borders as a "strong" and "very radical" measure, while also emphasizing that the Haitian Government has recognized its difficulties in putting an end to the construction of this irrigation canal in Haiti which provides a water intake on the Massacre River. According to the Dominican diplomat, the Government of Haiti has recognized that "it does not control the area" where the construction of the canal is taking place, a project which, according to him, is "an initiative of a private group", which makes the solution to this conflict even more complicated...

Passing of Agr. Jean Paul Piner Duperval
It is with deep sadness that Charlot Bredy, the Minister of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development, learned of the passing away of Engineer-Agronomist Jean Paul Piner Duperval, following a long and courageous struggle against illness. Agronomist Duperval was an exceptional expert who had remarkable mastery of several areas of expertise, including agronomy, hydrology and food safety.
