Haiti - Cap-Haitien : Public consultation on waste management in the city
"Propublic SAM" the company responsible for waste management in the communities of Cape Town, Quartier Morin and Limonade, in collaboration with the Technical Execution Unit and its partners organized a public consultation on the best way to manage waste in the municipality.

Because waste management is not the business of an institution or a small group of people, even before Propublic SAM launched the "Boukannen Tann Bouyi" operation, it was important to collect opinions citizens of the municipality.

This activity, which brought together many representatives of organized groups in the municipality, including women's associations and representatives of institutions selling waste collection services, allowed the organizers to obtain relevant information on how to manage waste from markets and waste produced by people at home.

The Town Hall informs that it is the firm "Generale Construction et Distribution S.A." which will prepare a temporary space on one hectare of land for this pilot project, even before the major construction project of a modern landfill site is completed (costs estimated between 30 and 35 million US dollars, financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB)).
