Cuba considers intervention in Haiti unnecessary

The Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the opinion that the most important task of the international community regarding Haiti is not to send a military contingent, as decided by the United Nations (UN) Security Council, but rather to provide more and better international aid and cooperation to overcome the serious humanitarian and security situation

Towards a strengthening of trade with Mexico

Representatives of the Mexican Embassy in Haiti met Ricardin Saint Jean, the Minister of Commerce and Industry, to discuss the various opportunities aimed at strengthening trade between the two countries.

67 earthquakes in September

Last September, there were 62 low intensity earthquakes in Haiti ranging from 0.8 to 3.8 on the Richter scale. The departments where the earth shook the most are Nippes, the West and the North-West.

Pastor Marco, heard by the courts

FNE : 43 schools under construction

Since September 2021, 51 schools have been started by the National Education Fund (FNE). 8 have already been inaugurated. By the end of October 17 more schools will be completely completed and 26 more will be completed by the end of 2023.

Corruption and the private sector

The Anti-Corruption Unit (ULCC) organized together with the Franco-Haitian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CFHCI) a lunch debate around the role of the private sector in the fight against corruption. For the ULCC, it is a question of creating spaces for discussion with a view to reaching an anti-corruption pact which enshrines the integrity of companies. This lunch debate took place in the presence of the Ambassadors of France and Taiwan, the directors general of the Directorate General of Taxes (DGI), the National Port Authority (APN) and the Chief of Staff of the Minister of Commerce and of the industry with panellists such as: Kesner PHAREL, Pierre Marie BOISSON, Me Josué SIGUÉ, Ms. Ana Luiza ARANHA and Suje PIERRE.
