Haiti - Insecurity : Some safety tips for the holiday season
During this holiday season, one cannot ignore the omnipresent insecurity which is increasing day by day, particularly in the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince.

Cases of kidnapping and sequestration for ransom are the most common https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-41165-haiti-insecurity-more-than-8-000-victims-of-violence-in-11-months.html . Most often, some people are victims of an act of banditry due to negligence or a lack of caution.

During this end-of-year period, it is extremely important to take care and be very vigilant in all your activities.

To this end, the Alliance for Risk Management and Business Continuity (AGERCA) would like to share with you some safety and security tips that can reduce your exposure to acts of banditry:

Tips from AGERCA :
  • Inform your loved ones about your journey;
  • Go out in a group if possible;
  • Avoid going out alone at night except in cases of extreme emergency;
  • Outside, pay full attention to everything that is happening around you by car, motorbike or on foot;
  • Identify in advance the actions to take in the event of an emergency;
  • Avoid being distracted by your phone;
  • Avoid dangerous areas and little-used detours;
  • Avoid exposing yourself too much on social networks;
  • Make sure all doors to your home or office are securely closed;
  • Remain courteous to everyone;

    Share these tips with your loved ones.
