The political agreement for the transition is signed
On Sunday, all structures that have representatives in the Transitional Presidential Council signed the "Political Agreement for a Peaceful and Orderly Transition" and sent it to CARICOM. This document, a dozen pages long, includes 53 articles and was signed in total by 24 people on behalf of all the structures. According to article 13 the mandate of the Presidential Council of Transitiona will end on February 7, 2026.

Drouet attacked, numerous victims
Friday April 5, 2024, in the locality of Drouet (Artibonite department), on the main road to Liancourt, the men of the "Gran grif" gang of Savien engaged in various acts of banditry against the population. Between 4 and 9 deaths were reported according to sources, around ten injured and at least 5 people were kidnapped.

Solar eclipse
Due to the solar eclipse which will be partial for Haiti this April 8, 2024 (less than 20%) the Haitian Ophthalmological Society (SHO) recommends to the population not to stare at the sun for the duration of the eclipse. Those who want to watch the eclipse (expected time between 3:18 p.m. and 3:22 p.m. local time) will need to wear special filtering glasses. The SHO reminds that infrared rays and ultraviolet rays could cause serious and permanent damage to the retina. Sunglasses do not provide adequate protection, you need glasses that meet the ISO 12312-2 standard

France 221st Toussaint l’Ouverture : Floral Offering
As part of the 221st anniversary of the death of Toussaint Louverture, precursor of the independence of Haiti, who died at Fort de Joux on April 7, 1803, the Embassy of Haiti in France deposited a floral offering in his memory.
