Haiti - FLASH : $60 million of American military equipment for the mission, some details

The Biden administration approved a $60 million military aid package to help Haiti https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-42106-haiti-flash-biden-releases-60-million-usd-for-the-mission-led-by-kenya.html in its fight against the armed gangs who are sowing terror in the country. This is the second program of the Biden administration, after that of 10 million dollars granted at the end of March https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-41987-haiti-flash-the-usa-will-provide-weapons-and-ammunition-to-the-pnh.html

According to documents obtained by the POLITICO media, this military aid program would include, among other things, at least 80 Humvees armored vehicles, 35 MaxxPro armored infantry carriers, firearms, precision rifles, anti-riot equipment, munitions and surveillance drones...

This decision will make it possible to provide weapons and equipment to the men of the countries making up the Multinational Security Support Mission https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-42217-haiti-flash-7-countries-from-africa-asia-and-the-caribbean-will-support-the-pnh.html (Kenya, Benin, Chad, Bahamas, Jamaica and Barbados as well as Bangladesh among others…), as well as the National Police of Haiti.

The first contingents of the Mission should begin to disembark in Haiti around May 23/26, 2024.
