Haiti - Security : Emergency landing in Cuba, 19 Haitian officials on board (UPDATE 4h52pm)

The President of Haiti, Michel Martelly informs that a plane carrying 19 officials of Government of Haiti (According to lastest information there was on board the Minister of Youth, Sports and Civic Action, René Jean Roosevelt, of Education and Vocational Training, Reginald Paul; of Agriculture Natural Resources and Rural Development, Agr. Doctor Hébert; of the Environment Joseph Ronald Toussaint, the officials of the State and members of the press) has made an emergency landing in Cuba. He also reported that the plane landed safely and there were no injuries, but he did not specify the state of emergency.

Damian Merlo, spokesman for the President Martelly said that the turboprop plane had a problem at the level of air conditioning wiring, and that the plane landed as a safety precaution.

For his part the President of the Republic, Michel Martelly is expected to the international airport José Martí in Havana to 3pm local time.

Martelly has just arrived in Cuba in a brief statement to journalists he said that it is a "pleasure" and a "honor" to be in Cuba, which he described as a "brother country".

This is the second such incident in less than a week.
