Haiti among the countries threatened by famine
Haiti is among the 9 countries in the world threatened by famine and is one of the 5 countries where more than 10% of the population is in a state of food emergency. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) announces a further deterioration in acute food insecurity between June and October 2024. OG 2024 : Boxer Belony Duliepre confirmed
Haitian boxer Cédrick Belony Duliepre (25 years old) who lives in Canada, is the third confirmed athlete who will represent Haiti at the 2024 Paris Olympics after Lynnzee Brown in gymnastics and Christopher Borzor in athletics. According to Hans Larsen, the President of the Haitian Olympic Committee estimates that around ten athletes (taekwondo, tennis, aquatic sports, judo, etc...) should in principle represent Haiti at these Olympics which will take place from July 26 to August 11 in Paris (France).

Canal cleanings in Cité Soleil
The St-Georges, Fort-Dimanche, Chancerelles and Atlétique canals, located in the town of Cité Soleil, are in the process of being cleaned by technicians from the West Departmental Directorate of Public Works. The operation is part of a short-term program aimed at decongesting drainage works in the town as a sign of preparations linked to the hurricane season. These interventions also affected the town of Tabarre where several roads were freed of all the sediment which littered and blocked the access routes.

The success of the Government depends on insecurity
"The success of the new government is conditional on the resolution of the security crisis and therefore the deployment of the Multinational Security Support Mission in Haiti," estimates the economist, political scientist and professor Joseph Harold Pierre, affirming that insecurity cannot be resolved without the support of the multinational force.

Taiwan : Good relations with the new leaders
Ku Wen-jiann, the Ambassador of Taiwan (Republic of China) to Haiti, established friendly interactions with the main new Haitian officials, including the transitional Prime Minister Garry Conille, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dominique Dupuy and the President of Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) Edgard Leblanc Fils, declared Cheng Li-cheng, Head of the Department of Latin American and Caribbean Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during a press conference.

ONI : 5.9 million Haitians in the database
Reynold Guerrier, Director General of the National Identification Office (ONI), revealed that his institution had registered a total of 5.9 million citizens (3 million women and 2.9 million men).
