Haiti - Agriculture : Minister Joseph finds an agreement with the World Bank 05/07/2024 10:23:16
Let's remember that these two projects, financed by the World Bank to the tune of 200 million US dollars, are taking place in 5 departments: Grand-Anse, South, Nippes, Center and North-West. While the closing date of PARSA is set for February 26, 2027, TPR activities will end on November 30, 2024. Should be noted that a process for formulating a new TPR project (TPR II) in the Nippes department is already underway. initiated. During the discussions, Minister Joseph managed to reach an agreement with the World Bank team for a financial agreement with these projects, to carry out specific actions to mitigate the effects of food insecurity in certain municipalities of the country, in perfect coherence with the Government's 100-day program. These actions essentially aim to reduce food insecurity in 40 municipalities classified in "Food emergency phase" by the National Food Security Coordination (CNSA) at the level of the 5 departments mentioned above. A working group was formed to materialize this initiative, in particular through an operational action plan accompanied by specific costs.
