Haiti - Education : Restoration of school authority and State Examinations 06/07/2024 10:30:27
The heads of the DDEs of Nippes, South, South-East and Grand'Anse, accompanied by their deputies and other executives, took part in this day of discussions during which Minister Augustin ANTOINE presented his vision of the Haitian school. According to Minister Antoine, there is an urgent need to rethink this school which must necessarily respond to the aspirations of young people, in particular, and the needs of society, in general, while taking into account national challenges and regional and international opportunities. "This school must demonstrate its usefulness by carrying forward the socio-economic development project of the new Haiti and work to consolidate citizen values as founding elements of the Republic [...] It is important to restore the authority of school..." In this perspective, the Minister instructed the DDEs to work, without delay, on the development of specifications which will reflect the state of the school in their respective department, more precisely of the Haitian public school taken in the meshes of a whole series of structural difficulties with negative impacts on the quality of teaching provided in classrooms, the performance of teachers and also the performance of learners. Regarding the organization of state exams, the instructions from Minister Augustin Antoine are clear and clear. DDEs are asked to redouble their efforts in order to facilitate the success of the process of passing the official tests. They must be creative in the planning and execution of their budget, rigorous in the choice of examination centers, and responsible in supervising the key stages of this major operation which involves the government of the Republic.
