"Major reforms are planned to modernize the legal framework of business. Many of our laws are practically obsolete. Large sectors of the economy are all ignored and are not regulated," declared the Minister before a large delegation of the Trade Promotion Agency of the Flemish Region of Belgium and Holland, who was in Haiti from November 13 to 16, 2011, to establish business relationships with local operators.

During the visit, the Minister Laleau informed that his ministry was currently working on the establishment of a group for the revision of the legal business framework in Haiti, he wishes an alignment with the international standards, and that it is adapted to the needs of modernization of the Haitian economy. Explaining that "the reform package that I will start to attract foreign direct investment cannot be of an absolute inefficiency, without the formation of a body of external commercial representatives."

Another important announcement of the Minister is the installation in the Embassies and Consulates of Haiti, of well-trained agents, able to guide and provide the required services to potential investors. A project, that he will set up in collaboration with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Religious Affairs, Laurent Lamothe.
